What are the differences in the K series

I tried looking on the search tool and found nothing helpful. I am just curious what the differences are in the wood K series rifles? I know that PPS makes a painter and a huricane, but I think those are scratch builds. What are the differences in the old sheridan kp's?

K-2 - Bolt Action, side tube feed, long wooden stock... the forearm of the stock goes almost to the end of the barrel.

KP-2 - Second variation. Basically the same tubes as the K-2, but with a shorter forearm (stock) so there is room for a pump now. Still a side tube feed.

KP-2 DF - Same as above... But instead of a side tube you now have a direct feed.

KP-3 - Same as the KP-2.

You can tell the KP-2 and 3 apart by the bottom tube length... The Kp2 top tube and bottom tube are close to the same length...

The KP-3 bottom tube is a few inches shorter then the top tube.

Also to add on to what carter said....

The K2, KP2 and KP2df came out of the factory set up for 12grams
They all could be modded for Constant air.
The KP3 was constant air out of the factory while it could be converted ot 12gram use.

Thanks Carter, that link to vintage rex helped a ton. I think I get it now. I know I don't like the bolt action. And I am kinda iffy between DF and stock feed, but I know what to look for.

How much paint does a standard KP-2 hold?

Also, what is the difference between a Hurricane and Painter?

I looks to me like all K series are pump or bolt, is that true, at least before modification?

KP2 holds about 15 rounds, if memory serves.
Hurricane is semi-automatic, Painter is a pump, both are made by Palmers Pursuit Shop.

All unmodified K's are either pump or bolt-action, yes.

Also, Piranha Rifle is another name for the KP3.
