DIY 13ci tire inflator

Since moving to denver I have never in my life gotten so many flat tires on my bike. I guess I could understand on the street, but just yesterday some friends and I did about 20 miles on the designated trail and we ended up having to do a tube replacement. Luckily I had my tools with me, but I am sick of my wally-world had pump and I have a spare reg laying around so I was considering making a setup for my 13ci tank.

I am having a problem finding an adapter that is 1/8 NPT on one end and has a schrader adapter on the other. Does anyone know where to find one? Would this be something I could find at my local ACE hardware or am I going to have to go online?

I found this pic here: http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?p=5236119 :

but it is only described as a "1/8" NPT male Shrader valve" which didnt help my internet search at all.

also found this, but I am looking to get away a little cheaper http://www.skygeek.com/ats-556.html

You will have to regulate the aircoming out of tank. Its leaving the tank at 850psi. That will just about explode a bike tire.

LOL sorry missed that part.

you can get brass pipe fittings from lowes or HD. put 1/4 to 1/8th bushing with 1/8 close nipple into the 1/8 schrader valve. That will work if your hose is 1/4.

If not screw a 1/4 to 1/8 bushing into the schrader valve and it will get you 1/8 threads

I have been doing this for years for car tires. Just use a quick disconnect set with the female coupler on the hose. then stop at ACE and pick up a schrader valve end that the male end of the QD can screw into. And yes, even Wally World will carry the schrader adapter. I just used the QD style because I used my remote hose so I didn't need to hold the bottle next to the tire. I have been using CO2 with an on/off valve and just crack it on and off until the tire is full, no reg needed.

Should be able to find it all in the plumbing section. ITs not a Scrader specific part. Its just brass plumbing parts like used on kitchen sink faucets and stuff.

Actually, it would be in the automotive department as it is the same as auto tires.

How many nails you get on a finish nailer with a 45/45?
