Tippmann TPX or TiPX?

I'm interested in getting a pistol and the Tippmann seems to have the best combination of the features I want. I can find some good deals on new and used TPXs, but I also know that there were a number of issues that Tippmann addressed and upgrades that were made on the TPXs after they were released.

I'm wondering if I'm better off just biting the bullet and getting the new TiPX or finding a TPX at a discounted price and hoping it's all sorted out already. Any thoughts?

I would personally pick up a used TPX. Most of them have the upgrades and good mags, just double check with the seller first.

There are plenty of deals out there that come with plenty of accessories that make that route worthwhile. If you get one that is missing any of the upgrades you can call Tippmann. You just give them your serial number and they'll verify it and send you the missing upgrades at no cost.

Tippmann CS is top notch.

Thanks Deuce for your post. I've debated this myself and would like to pick one up eventually. Now I feel a little more comfortable about if I get a TPX model over the refinded TiPX.

No problem, I've been looking myself. I'm 100% confident in their CS from dealings I've had in the past.

yea Tippmann has awesome CS. I bought up a bunch of 8rd mags and usually would have problems with them assisting with breaking paint. I called tippmann and they replaced all 20 of my mags for the 7rd ones. Also got some parts I guess my pistol needed. They shipped everything quite quickly and I did all of this Via email.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Does anybody know if there's a TPX serial # after which no more mods were needed? In other words, did Tippmann ever release a "finished" version of the TPX, before introducing the Ti model?

Yep - the newest ones that came with the seven round mags were the ones with the upgraded internals and the adjustable 12 gram plug. I'm not for certain what the serial start number is but they did make them fully upgraded before the TiPX got involved.
