Help identify this barrel please

Recently acquired this barrel in a purchase, and I have no idea what kind it is. The end with the threading as a brass "sleeve" that has the threads on it. The rest of the barrel is Stainless, and has unique porting. Thanks for your help!

You sure it isn't Nickel Plated Brass?

Maybe an OLLLDDD PPS barrel?

J&J?

Hard to say, there were approx. 5 billion barrel makers for the Cocker in the 90's.

I don't believe it is plated brass. if you look at the very back of the barrel, you can see the stainless (I'm pretty sure) inner core, and then the brass layer surounding it. Never seen a barrel made this way

Given the fact that it doesn't have shroud rests I'm gonna say SNIPER threaded. My guess would be that puppy predates cockerage.

The brass threads would help with barrel coming unscrewed during use. Brass seems to have more "sticktion" than harder metals. You have me totally stumpped though. I have quite literally never seen anything like that.

Looks typical of the early 90s J&J barrels.
The barrel itself was hard-chromed, and the threads were pressure fit.

In fact, J&J had a service back then where they could change the threads of your barrel for free. Just send in your barrel, and tell them what threads you wanted. They would knock off the old one, and slap a new one on.

The only odd thing is the porting does not seem to be the J&J style, but the ports do look like they were drilled post hard-chroming.

Use a magnet to test it. That will tell you if its Steel or not.

Magnets don't stick to Stainless (or none that I have at least), unfortunately

I'd put my money on J&J as well.
