OK, I got the piston out. It seems to be in fairly good condition. However, the o-ring has a decent-sized nick in it.

You mentioned a pin, but I don't see one. I took the piston out and it doesn't look like there's anything else in the reg body. Is the pin inside the piston? Is that what the jam nut is holding in?

The pin is between the body halves. The jam nut is for the ovepressure relief in the piston. dont mess with it, that is your 2nd saftey in the reg. Replace the o-ring and lube it up. Do NOT use any grease, dow 33 or otherwise. They slow down the reg and dont lube it very well. Use standard airgun oil, gold cup, etc.

See if that works before going any further. You can order an o-ring for a mag piston (Classic Valve) and be good to go.
