Sniper 12g velocity issues

Does anyone else have issues with high 12 gram velocities? First few shots are fine but every shot is faster than the last until the cartridge is empty. After 5 or 6 shots, FPS is over 300 then 325 then 350 and it can get up over 400. Oh I have a stock WGP sledgehammer/jackhammer reg (cant remember which name it is) on it, and the velocity still climbs. I have noticed this on 2 different sniper setups. One 2k+ and this one is pre-2k. Both were using old style cocker valves, heavy valve springs, ANS quick pull bolts, SS hammers, and and a variety of main springs. I even tried using a CP reg, but no luck. The 2k+ setup was without a reg.

Is this a normal situation with snipers on 12 grams? If so, doesn't this create an issue at fields?

Need to change your springs. Your sweet spot is well below the 12 gram pressure. Needs a heavier hammer spring. And a lighter valve spring. Or just sweet spot the reg. Splattttttt and I found out that CP regs arent on the best terms with 12 grams.

On the fields note. As long as you can keep the first 3 shots on the chrono under, its perfect for cheaters.

I tried every spring combo I could. No luck. The velocity just keeps climbing. I thought about the 3 shot thing.... Ok if an occasional shot rang in kinda hot, but not when it launches them out at 350-400 fps. I never felt a paintball gun, specifically a sniper or cocker, hop in my hands before. Every hot shot gave a good bit of recoil. Im waiting on another spring kit. I'll continue trying when I get that one in. I tried a number of different valves too.

I would try red main, green valve. That should be a good combo for direct feed 12grams. But with a reg you're going to have to find a reg not as effected by input pressure.

Ok I got this all figured out. The pre-2k sniper is ready to rock and roll on 12's. Blue valve and green main. WGP stock reg. I acutally had the reg wide open before, so it didn't regulate anything. That was the problem. Now it gets about 25 shots at 260-280 fps. The 2k+ is setup for a 13ci or 68ci tank. It is pretty sick with the aluminum pump handle I picked up. A tap of the finger throws the pump handle back, cocking the gun, and the return spring quickly launches the chunk of aluminum forward with no effort. I can actually throw the gun forward with one hand and cock/load it. Its pretty neat. Although this sniper weighs every bit as much as a Shoebox Shocker now. lol.

only 25 shots? That seems very low for a regulated sniper.
