| Active Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: California | Detent question This may sound like a stupid question, but i want to put a detent on one of my guns, i was thinking a cocker detent, but i dont get how they work. I was looking at one and did not understand how it kept the ball from rolling out because the bolt slid over the detent. Any help with this would be great

| Rec Poster Join Date: Apr 2006 | Well....the simple answer is that the basic detents are not to prevent roll-out...they are to prevent double feeds. Some people have installed detents or detent-like items into barrels to prevent roll-outs, but the original purpose of detents was to prevent more than one ball from loading (more than one ball usually equals broken balls, inaccurate shots..etc etc.) |
