I am close, sooo close to getting this hotty.

As it turns out, the velocity adjuster is broken and needs replacing.

How is it broken? It is just a large hex key you put down the barrel. I forget the size. I lost the orginal tool, but I bought a long hex at the hardware store that does the trick.

Is the bolt rusted? Is the screw stripped? What is wrong with it? Just wondering. Thanks.

Getting a tool bolt can only get from cartermachine, so good luck

I was just thinking that myself...

I thought the "velocity adjuster" was the actual screw in the bolt that adjusts the velocity but he might mean the tool itself...

Hrm... I may have read too much into the email...be right back

It's a 1/4 hex key. I just checked on the one I have for the duck. The Super Stock Chaos had that he sold to PWPaintball used the same thing.

Nice, thank you guys, he hasn't gotten back to me yet as to what was actually wrong yet. I will report back once he does.

Is $600-ish a reasonable price for this?

Ok, here is what he said:

"the marker fires just fine, I wish I know how to take this thing apart and figure out exactly what is wrong. All I know is the last time my friend tried to play with it, he was shooting too hot. if you know where i could find a manual for it. maybe i can figure out exactly which part of the velocity adjuster is bad. I was told something was cross threaded causing the adjuster not to work. hope that helps."

It sounds like to me the setscrew that adjusts airflow is crossthreaded in the bolt (or where ever it is located) and cannot be adjusted.

Is this a hard fix and what do you think is a fair price for this?

FYI: The velocity is adjusted by increasing/decreasing the compression on the main spring. Not by restricting the passage of air from the valve tube.

At worst, you'd still be able to adjust velocity the old fashion way by changing the power tube size, or the old old older way of chaging the main and valve springs. (Larger power tube = higher fps, stronger main or weaker valve spring = higher fps. The converese = lower fps.)

BTW: If the bolt is the only problem and if the money is not an issue, I think I'd probably get it. You could always replace the bolt if it becomes to irritating a problem for you, down the road.

Maybe you can work it out that if the bolt is stripped then the guy could drop the price a bit (maybe $20-50 which is in IMHO the ballpark figure for a replacement bolt).

Ok, I'll pitch the idea. Thanks Shiba-Kun

Is there an online manual available somewhere with an exploded view? and where would I go to get one?

It's basically a Nel-spot on steroids. They are butt-simple to take apart and tune.
