Paintball gun release history timeline?

Here's a project that might be too big of an undertaking, making a list of every paintball gun in order of their initial release. I had to correct someone today who believed that the Spyder was the first stacked tube blowback

For the good of the next generation, a chronological list must be done!

the F1 was the first compact STBB IIRC. before that was the big boys; PMI3/VM68 (but not sure what was the first STBB)

Oh, I mentioned those two, and the original promaster, which may or may not have come before the F1. I'm not really sure, hence the want of the List.

Hmmm...I did some double checking. Vintage rex lists the release year of the VM as 93, which is TWO YEARS AFTER the release year of the F1 and the Promaster. So have my assumptions been wrong, or is this a typo?

Somethings not right there. I bought my F1 in 91, and VM's were on the scene at that time.

THe method I use is rec.sport.paintball references

pmi3- July 1991
F1- Feb 1991
Promaster- Jan 1992

Not an exact science since the first mention on rec.sport.paintball often refers to prototypes and rumors, but its still the best system around.

The F1 did predate the Promaster, but the Spyder is a near exact ripoff of the Promaster, not the F1 as often thought.

Nope, not VM's technically. PMI-3's were around, but they didn't change to VM's till later.

Uh. Vintagerex doesn't have a "time line," nor is it chronological, nor does it list all guns, etc.
