yeah I mean not to brag or anything but I grew up really ppor so for almost 10 years of playing as a kid we played hand-feed 3 shot games....so while hosing paint down a lane that someone will try and run might be effective...I typically don't need more than 3 shots to take someone out. Playing scenarios there have been many occasions where im getting hosed on by a group of people and I just pick them off one at a time with my SC phantom....but it would be nice to lay down some paint if needed. Sorry for the rant, I think I will probably end up going with the axe but I really do seem to play my best when I know im the underdog.

The Axe is arguably the better gun, head to head.

As much as I love automags, the axe will perform so much better.

If it weren't for the possibility of ROF issues as far as rules I would take the mag.

I have never owned an electro that didn't fail on me at some point. My mag has had problems that made it unshootable twice in the last decade. If fact my mag is the go to gun for loaning to new players. One of my team mates pointed out that everyone wearing our team colors has played with my mag at some point when their own gear failed.

I went to the police olympics last year and pitted for our badges. Over the course of 2 days we had 10 marker failures. At least 3 were the direct cause of losses. It is absolutley soul crushing to put yourself in a position to win and lose because your gear fails.

My choice would be a mag. It is equal in terms of firepower and vastly more reliable.

The Axe is reliable gun.

The Automag has a beloved place in history, but is outdated.

It would be like driving a 69 mustang in a nascar race. Sick car, just not fit for the job

Outdated?

Please explain to me what part of the AGD valvetrain is "outdated".

I shoots as constitantly as anything else on the market. It durability has no equal. It can cycle as fast as any other marker on the market. There isn't a single outdated concept in that package.

Mags are awesome and alot of fun but keep in mind that what he wants is a tournament marker to compete with other guys with tournament markers. Mags cycle as fast as anything out there but to get it to cycle that fast you need an adjustable reg or a reg with a high output pressure (1100 psi) to get the RT effect. This effect is not tournament legal therefore you would be limiting the guns potential by feeding it less than that and your rate of fire would be the same as any other mechanical marker.

Also, the RT effect is not exactly something that is reliable. You need practice and then you still need to find that sweet spot to get that constant string.

For fun or rec. mags are great. rarely break down and just need some oil every now and then but to be competitive in a field of balloons and people spraying paint......you need a gun than can hang.

It doesn't have eyes, it has a heavy trigger pull, it kicks like a mule.

Without a level 10 kit, an automag is a paintblender. With a level 10 kit, the trigger pull is heavier and requires higher tank input pressure.

also, the gun can require a tank that outputs 1000psi, which means less shots per fill.

The Axe is simple to maintain, has eyes, doesn't break paint, and can run on a low pressure tank, meaning more shots per fill.
