Wall Thickness

Ok I have found some 3/4 aluminum pipe with a .065 thick wall. My question to you is simple. Is this thick enough to hold pressure in the creation of a paintball gun? Also what is the "Ideal" thickness for barrel stock? Same place I found the alumiunum also has brass round tube. Both Aluminum and Copper have a nominal ID of .685

Find the spec sheets for the tubing with out them you are making a potential hand grenade. If the tubing has none walk away you will extend your life this way.

CO2 has to be built to 1800 psi
HPA has to be built to 850 psi

Thanks B. That was basically the information I was looking for. I have sent the company an E-Mail asking for specs.

There's also the need for a safety margin. That is typically 4 or 5 times the normal operating pressure so you'll see a burst pressure and a max working pressure.

There's charts around that detail all this but you need to know what alloy you have. So obviously asking the supplier will be the best bet.

But for some general guides here's one of the more informative and wide ranging charts that covers a lot of options.

With all the issues we have finding brass tubing I'm really starting to think that seamless stainless would be a good way to go. And no tarnishing troubles either....
