Question Dye Izon Sight mounted on Phantom Dove Tail

I recently got a phantom, as some have seen. I already have a Dye Izon fibre optic sight that I want to mount on the phantoms dove-tail rails. The problem is that the mounting rails on the sight are about 2 mm too deep to have the mounting screws in the sight engage the rails on the phantom. Also, the dove-tail is about 1 mm too narrow on either side. I've seen the exact sight mounted on the same kind of rails on a phantom:

Suggestions?

can you cut out a channel in the phantom feedblock so the screws rest in them?

The phantom I have is OC. So, the rails are with on the valve, the picture here is just to show that the same sight can be mounted on dove-tail rails.

Ahhh ok, i know places like cabelas make a small 3/8" rail riser, Might wanna check on that. Might be different tolerances on the riser.

well a riser is still sounding like the best option to butchering a perfectly good rail (or sight). I asked bryceeden, he said he just epoxied the thing on. Might just have to give CCI a call and see if they have a better option

Or you could sell it and buy an actual armson sight which fits.

Yup. Both of my Armsons fit Phantoms just fine.
Not cheap, though.

If it were me I'd just dremel the sight/rail until it fits. Give me something to do.

Oh, I'd add that the 32* Magnum sight (superior iZon clone) will also not fit an SC Phantom for the same reasons.

I converted my izon to mount on 1913 Rails. I removed the mount that comes with the Izon, and picked up a set of scope rings (using electrical tape to take up the slack between the barrel of the sight and the inner diameter of the scope ring. Works great!

I may have just the thing for you....I have a small piece of a Tippmann/Spec ops rail adapter that was cut off that I'd been saving for whatever reason....I also have an Izon sight and found that this rail adapter piece I have is just the right length for it,all you'd need to do is grind the sides down to fit the Izon and you'd be good to go...If you want it let me know and you can have it

hmmm maybe. If I can find something similar at a pro shop, I might just go with that. I'm also seriously considering dremeling the thing down if i can find the right attachment. I think it might just be easier taking off the current mounting rail the sight has and getting a dovetail mount NcStar 1" High 1" Rings - 3/8" Dovetail Mount
Kinda like that
