Well I don't care about making a patent for it, and I don't think it would take off, or else I'd be late to the table. If I have time Sunday I might make a 3D mock up, but now that a few people seem in agreement, where could I pick up a few ammo boxes? I know this site would be a good place to start, and I've seen a few in some sales, but being in Toronto, my supply on these kinda things is limited.

This said, if it ever DID take off, I'd atleast like a mention that I sort of, half-assed the idea (while sitting on a dreadful TTC bus on my way home from a 12 hr day).

In terms of making this based on a Phantom's feed gate, I'd rather have this be a universal design that was just based around fitting into any feedneck, hence the design revolving around the connection between the feedneck and the hopper neck.

I got that idea from super_stanchy's speed stick idea. an exposed feedneck neck (~.875") or clamping neck w/a small piece sticking out would work. I've done it with the rotor, ego and my speedstick. It's actually not terrible.

Two packs, for just over $10.00 shipped... and more than 10 sets in stock.

2 Pump Play Paintball Stock Gun 40 round mini Drum Ammo Loader Hoppers RARE! new | eBay

Also something to note, these hoppers have a small feedneck and usually need a collar to fit well into marker feednecks, this should make the ball retaining design easier to fit in!

I'd planned on doing something VERY similar with empty tiki-torch oil cans. A few years ago I'd put together a Pro-Lite for the Post-Apocalyptic build, with the intent of using those oil cans in exactly this way. Only issue I had was a slight lip at the very edge of the neck. I probably could have crimped it in further to maintain strength of the rather thin metal. The whole thing would have fit well into the Post-Apoc theme... I think I might just have to resurrect that project now
