Ya, I'd probably strip and polish it.

And the guy is slowwwww in contacting me...ugh, I had to register on some canadian boards just to get him to PM me.

Do you think it has any historical value?

Well, assuming that rare paintball gun collectors follow the same driving factors that collectors of any rare things ascribe to, I would say no.

Pay only what you would pay for a shooter Nellie in similar condition. Unless it was in original factory condition and contained all it's original parts, I would doubt that it has any additional value above an beyond a standard shooter Nellie.

Good luck,
D

Thanks, I'll probably just get a 007 *and maybe a 707*, and use rest for a 68 Special

The 707's probably have more of a fan base than the Quick Splotches do.

.675? I'd worry about that, if you're looking some anything other than collector value.

Note the metric measurements on that. (.675.... huh?)

That tends to support the idea that these were primarily or solely released/sold in Europe (and Canada?). Maybe they're as common across the ocean as Nellies are here.

Interesting.

By the way, I no longer think this gun is a re-paint.

I don't think it's a repaint. Not because I know ANYTHING about paintball markers from that era but because I had a beloved Daisy cowboy gun in the 80's that was a bb pistol with no guts sold as a toy. It had the exact same painted finish that sort of looks like they tried to make it look blued but missed by a mile or so. I'd say that's the original Daisy paint.

.675.. nice! Small enough to be polished internally and never have a rollout!
