Shocker Performance?

I just bought a RL Shocker and am wondering what can I do to get the absolute best performance out of this marker? Consistency, efficiency, what are the best upgrades and mods?

I'm sorry if there's already threads on this (I'm sure there are), but I wanted to start a fresh one for my wants and needs in particular. On the other hand, where it's a RL, is it better to leave it as is? It's got the RL Virtue board in it already.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the board is pretty much set.

Standard Shocker regs can be annoying to adjust because they take a special wrench instead of a regular hex key; so you may want to replace that if it hasn't already been replaced.

The standard SmartParts asa doesn't purge when you turn it off (why on earth smarparts would do that still puzzles me) so a purging on/off asa is definitely worthwhile.

Other than that, the RL Shockers are pretty well-equipped.

From one shocker owner to another, Enjoy!

look up shocker spring modding. It will improve efficiency and combat FSDO.

I was wondering about this. I've seen on the Techt website, the Shocker Inertia bolt comes with a spring. The stock bolt doesn't have one... I'm assuming thats what you're getting at.

Also, what settings should my board be at as far as dwell settings and such?

Sorry for the newb questions, but I'm a complete newb when it comes to electros. I've shot Tippmanns for years. I owned a Mini with a Virtue board in it a few years ago, so I'm familiar with how the board functions in general. But I'm completely new when it comes to the design of the Shocker. I took it apart when I got it and it's nothing like the blowbacks or blowforwards that I'm accustomed to.

Are the Virtue eyes worth investing in? The stock eyes work fine, at least so far.
Is the Techt bolt worth tracking down? Techt website says it's not in stock, but Ansgear says they have one (at least on their site. I haven't called to confirm this).

Virtue eyes work about the same as your stock eyes, but the visible LED gives you a visual reference if you have to tech any problems (you normally shouldn't).

Tbh, I typically leave my dwell at the factory settings. If you want to experiment with it, feel free; but its not usually necessary.

As mentioned above, sprung bolts do a lot to cure bolt stick and drop off. If you don't want to deal with fsdo and stick throughout the day, a sprung bolt like the Techt is a good choice.

I found a spring on a local paintball site. It's just a spring and it says in the description that it's for the Shocker and Luxe. It's $5.50. Will this suffice, or should I just but the Techt kit? I'll post a link later, I'm st spell on my phone at the moment.

What makes the Lurker better? I'm admittedly a Techt fanboy. After being sponsored by them through Bad Karma, and all the help I've gotten from Tim in the past, I really like their products and supporting their company. If Lurker is better, I'd be open to it, but I'd need a good reason why.

To the best of my knowledge he pioneered the design. I'm not a huge shocker guys so I dont have direct experience but my experience with Lurker products compared to techt products, one of them actually knows what they're doing and the other one is techt.

The Lurker bolt is actually a pretty limited-production item. It's been awhile since I checked, but last time I looked, Lurker was sold out of them.
