A quieter shoe

First off I may have misspelled the title

But anyways. I've been playing alot more sneaky stalker type play since I picked up stock class and in the woods someone said they could hear my footsteps and that I needed stalker shoes. I didn't know what that meant but could anyone steer me towards proper "stalking" footwear and possibly some of your stalking tips for paintball?

Thanks guys

And let the record show. This time I searched before I posted.

It's probably not the footwear but more likely what you're stepping on (sticks, leaves...etc).

yup gotta step more heal-to-toe and slowly so as not to make too much noise. think sneaking up on squirrels and rabbits on a much bigger scale.

keep something between you and the person you are stalking like a hill, bunker, trees, brush something to block their view while you move. don't move fast because the eye picks up on movement faster than color. get into position and let them come to you. i have certain spots on the field where i play that if i bust it from the break to get there, i know people will coming into my shooting range when they take up bunkers in front of me. camo does help in the woods but not much in the open areas. shoot then move, don't stay in one spot and try to duke it out. if you shoot then move you can catch them staring at where you were or catch them out in the open trying to manuever on you.

It's definitely more your feet than it is your footwear.

You can practice at your field very easily. Simply watch out for anything that could make a loud sound and don't step on it. Twigs, old leaves, certain types of long grasses... Even practice around work by trying to walk as quietly as you can.

Ahh great to know I don't have to shell out on new shoes. Just got watch where I step? Got it! Stalking my prey is my new adrenaline rush. Trying to get as close as possible without being seen and for a long time. Gets the blood rushing every time.

The trick is a flexible sole. It's hard to control the angle that a hard shoe hits the ground.

i just wear cleats, i sneak up on people just fine, but i don't think i've played against any "tracking experts." although if there are boots designed to minimize noise i would also be interested.

i just make sure my leg goes into the ground vertically, so that i'm not kicking any branches unnecessarily.

I just wear hiking boots. It's important to know when to move. Put someone in their bunker and then make a run for it. I like to wait for them to start shooting at someone else or take cover from someone else's fire. That way they're focusing on the immediate threat and hopefully not my foot falls.

Pick up rocks or short branches and throw them in another direction to distract your prey opponents.

I've done that in airsoft games before. Its funny and a good tactic

Also I saw the thread on vibrams ( those funky looking shoes that have the toes in separate spots) would those work well?
