Law velocity limits?

Does anyone know if there is a standard velocity limit for laws, on fields that allow them?

I think it's about 250fps, but I need to double check....

In Canada if it shoots more than 500 fps it's a firearm regardless of the propulsion method. Most fields here have a 300 fps limit.

Thanks, for the replies. I have an Idea on how to make a Piat style launcher that does not require compressed gas. I'll post some pics if it works out.

I'm not sure around a standard, but IIRC, the D-day website said it was 240. It's probably a higher firm limit, but they say 240 to give a little leeway, like my local field does at 280.

Also take into consideration your ammo. You're probably won't be lobbing these puppies 400 yards, so a lower velocity can be used to lengthen the lifespan of those hard to find nerfs.

Also, the 'nerf replacement' foam rockets from JCS have a suggest speed of 180fps.

MPP Games states in their rules 220 fps or less for tank main guns and laws. We usually chrono our tank guns at 200 fps they fly nice and straight there.
