New Shocker/ Old Shocker Compatibilty...

Well, I might get me an Eclipse bodied Shoebox. One of the determining factors though is customization. How many, if any at all, parts that are available for a new Shocker are compatible with the old Shoeboxes? Also, in lieu of this, how easy are these things to mod? I'd like to do most of the modding personally, like eyes, milling (maybe halfblock), internals, etc. The basic home-brew kit. I don't know much about Shoeboxes, or Shockers in general, so I'd appreciate any help.

PS: I'm being offered the Shoebox, in LNIB condition, alongside an old B2K or $100 for my Race Framed Free Flow Millenium with Messiah Reg. How stupid would this be? The only reason I might be doing it is because I'm going pump, and paintslingers are going to be my backup, and I like to tinker.

As for compatiblity between the Shocker SFT's and NXT's with the Shoebox, the only thing they share is the barrel. And there really isn't much left to mill off of an Eclipse shoebox.

Shoeboxes - shocker thread
SFTs - shocker thread
NXT - Impulse/ion thread with the private lable being cocker thread.

barrels are shocker thread

feednecks (if it has threading) are impulse threaded

grip frames take standard two hole 45 grips

Thats about it =P

I had forgotten about the barrel change on the NXT's, they also changed the feedneck threads on the NXT's.

Bleh. Then I don't know. It's probably not worth it. At least for a Raced Free Flow. I'll probably just have to buy one one day.

There's lots of mods you can do to the gun, in terms of milling and electroincs stuff, you just have to keep it slow as to not go overboard. The guns have a lot of internal space unused so there's a lot of options for mods.

The only thing that are compatible between them are generic parts, such as detents (compatible with shocker sft or nerve, or impulse), feednecks will likely work too. The 2000 model bodies are unthreaded so you'll have to epoxy the neck in place. The 01-02 necks are threaded the same as all the other sp markers (besides shocker nxt). grips, barrel, bottomline, etc.
