Question What the heck is this old pump gun?

old school pump gun - (item 300139868654 end time Aug-15-07 08:41:19 PDT)

I have trouble linking ebay items, but if it works, see if you can figure out what it is. I have no clue, looks like a Nelspot frame, but the body and sight rail look Lapco-ish...and wth is that odd pump with the huge linkage to the bolt?

That's just a retrofit kit for a Nel-Spot. Could be from Aerostar or TASO or a bunch of other manufacturers from the 80's. Someone here can probably nail it exactly. There is nothing to get excited about here. I'll bet is has stock Nelson internals. Nothing LAPCO about it.

I just thought the sightrail looked like the ones on the Ghosts.

You are right in that it is the very similar size sight rail as on a Ghost. The mounting holes might even line up between a Ghost body and that one.

Interesting. I had no idea what it was, just looked cobbled together, but i figured I should ask. Could have been some ultra-rare gun or something.

Never even held a Lapco, not very common around these parts, so anytime I see something that looks like it could be one, and it isn't $400...I get all excited.

Those siterails were very common in the early 90s.

The local field had a huge bucket of 1" and 1.25" versions that would slide over most guns. I think they came from Taso? I have a couple in my house somewhere, but I havnt seen them in years

It looks like an Aerostar kit to me, probably a former rental (they were relatively common rentals) albeit one that is in pretty good shape (aesthetically speaking; who knows what's going on with the internals).
