Revy won't "see" paint?

Going through my gear to get my butt in gear and out playing again... and my Revy is having an odd problem.

The eyes seem to not want to see any paint and turn it into a blender, but when I put my finger up into the feedneck it works as normal, it sees my finger, and the impeller stops spinning as usual.

I tried a few different colored paints (some pink and yellow white box and green/black marbs) with no change and tested the battery/changed it and that's fine.

Any ideas?

Raise or lower the revy in the feedneck just a little bit. The ball stack might be as just the right hight to where the eye is right between two balls

This.

My clear one had lots of problems around high noon, the sun would play merry hell with the eyes. A quick loop of tape over the eyes and a less ghetto but of paint when I got home fixed the problem.

If its not clear, try the above as well but I admit, it would have to be JUST in the wrong spot for that to consistantly be the case. The eyes may be weak?

A touch of black paint around the neck helped, too... IIRC, some later clear shells came pre-painted from VL.

clean the eyes. even though paint might get through, while your finger is being seen, more from your fingers density than actual site. a little smear of paint might be there. also, i would suggest getting some spray paint and giving the feed neck area a light coating.

Not clear shells, original black shells actually, so good there. I'll try giving the eyes a good cleaning and check the ball stack issue, that one in particular might be the problem as I know it's been cut down.

Interesting.... Are you using it on an electro with eyes, by any chance? If the revy's feedneck has been chopped a bit, I wonder if the marker's eyes could be tripping the revy's sensor.

Not using it on an electro, on a pump actually.

Gave the eyes a good cleaning and changed the battery, still won't see paint, but still sees larger solid objects in the feedneck (like my finger or a swab). I feel it really might be the paint is too small (even though it's boring out around .679). I need to try and find something like a pack of superballs that are bigger that .68, or just swell some paint a bit, and see if that works.
