Colors cocker?

I recently nabbed a nice older cocker off ebay for $60. The listed pic was of the left side, but when I received it, I noticed that on the right side it has 'colors cocker' engraved in the body. Is there any interesting history with this?

Interesting. Besides the regs being all scratched to hell, the body and frame are immaculate, especially for a rental. Maybe it belonged to a staff member or something.

Actually no, the block's not delrin, it's al. It has 2 holes drilled in it from the back on either side of the cocking rod hole, which I found curious.

The two holes on either side of the cocking rod hole sounds like it was drilled for a rex spot velocity adjuster. They used a set screw on the side of the cocking rod to adjust the velocity so you didn’t have to take out the cocking rod. Some of the old beaver tails had a notch out of them for the same. I’ve only seen them on the right side but they possibly could be turned over.
