difference btwn open/closed bolt with an insert system?

disclaimer this is not meant to be a revival of the old cocker vs mag argument

So last time I played I used my new to me freak w/ .679(underbored slightly) insert on both a 2k autococker and on my micromag. Both on a ninja 45/45. The cocker seemed to be more consistent and more accurate. The mag did not seem to have quite as tight of a grouping.

Is this just my perception of the guns? or does underboring work better with a closed bolt system vs an open bolt system? If so why why not.

couple other things:1. I could think of would be that the cocker was right feed and the mag was left powerfeed(now has right feed adapter). Could be a difference in perception caused by sight picture. 2. Difference in trigger pull. 2x hiinge frame vs stock cocker frame. Mag also seemed to want to double triple fire some too (possible high air input and 96* heat) 3. The barrel may have gotten spray or something in it sometime after switching

Seems to me that the Mag just needs some tuning

perhaps. It's a classic valve with level 7. Is there anything to do other than lowering the tank input pressure?

I think it might have more to do with the on/off. Some fresh o-rings throughout the valve wouldn't be a terrible idea since you've had it for awhile.
