Actually, and I surprised that you did not know this, they do make a box, for USPS Priority Mail, that a full sized Sheridan KP2 or even KP3 will fit in. My local post office calls it the board game box. If people are going to ship something like that, then contact your local post office about getting it. It's like two of the flat medium sized boxes, one next to the other. It also ships for the same price as a USPS Large Priority Mail box. I have a couple, for just in case.

As to peanuts, I love them. I use them alot, and they work great. I have received them, and reused them as well. Granted, it is styrofoam, so if you don't want to keep using it, then make sure that you recycle it properly. We have a styrofoam recycle service fairly local, and it's free.

Also, I add in the idea of making a boxing video, to show your item working, unless you specifically state that it does not work, to help you along. Just in case.

ONe place I worked we used to get shredded wood (kind of like strips of a cheap paper shredder.) They worked great for a packing material and stayed bunched together so they did not blow all over the room if you exhale when you open the box.

I always use peanuts when shipping things to my my boys (in the custody of my ex). I try to make sure the box is lined with a plastic liner so the static buildup makes them jump out of the box.

I like to wrap guns in an old (clean) towel before wrapping bubble wrap around them.

Hmm, I haven't had luck with the board game boxes with Kp2s.

I've spliced a few USPS priority boxes, but they won't let me get away with splicing the flat rates

First time that I shipped a KP3, last summer, I used two medium boxes, undid them, turned them inside out, and put them back together as one large box. Which happened to be the same size as the large box that I got a month or so ago from the Post Office. Either way, it beats the way that I received my recent KP3, in a larger box, with no padding or anything. Actually, the feedneck was partially sticking out of the box due to it's moving around.

Paper is ok, you need to use a lot of it. Packed, crumpled paper will spread out the impact/crush force so that your parts will stay safe. Downside is that it is heavy.

paintball parts dont go in envelopes! Lol
Envelope is ok. You first need sandwich the part between 2 pieces of cardboard, tape up, then put in envelope.

Those are too small. Just because it fits, doesn't mean its big enough.

This is a great idea, though newspaper is fine too. Most people don't realize that the bubble wrap plastic sometimes bonds itself to whatever it's wrapped to and ruin the finish.

When I ship expensive markers, I'm a fan of using padded gun cases.

They can be bought for about $15 new so not much more than having to buy a whack of padding material and they offer an added level of protection.

I wrap the case in bubble wrap, then place it in a shipping box which I then tape every seam of. You can play kick ball with the final box and be perfectly assured the contents are safe.

Too bad we can't be like CJ and sell $1k+ markers... For that type of price category I have no problems mailing in a padded gun case. Hell, I'll throw in strippers for free at that price.
