WGP Superstock.....What's the deal with them?

Hey all,

I found a retailer that is selling new Superstock SF Autocockers for about $160 or $190 with a nice ASA and locking feedneck.

The price seems way to low for a classic style cocker with eyes and a SF frame but from the pics it sure looks to me like the Superstock is not a Trilogy style design.

Can anyone offer opinions/impressions of the Superstock SF? Is it able to be converted to pump?

Thanks!

Makes a great pump.

Same thing as pictured, pretty much. No eye holes though.

if you're going to make it a pump, why not get an 05 Superstock so that you don't have to deal with eye holes?

I don't plan to pump it right away....I just want options and to be sure I'm getting a traditional style cocker rather than a Trilogy style.

Russc: You mean 05 prostock? 04 prostocks and 05 superstocks are on megaclearance at a few sites. 05 prostocks are a bit harder to find, unfortunately...

I noticed that too, and Black Magics are going for $300. The Superstocks were going for $400 ish not too long ago. Can they be all that bad for $165? I remember when Spyders cost more.

Well....I decided against a Superstock and wound up with a black to red fade Black Magic. While I was there I picked up an Outkast Sniper 2 as well as a free DVD. With the free shipping the grand total was $359.01 . Darn nice deal for 2 markers that were lots more than that not too long ago IMHO.

ANSGEAR.COM - Great Prices, Great Selections, Great Customer Service. if you care to check out some good deals on WGP markers.

With all of the super-fast, super-light electros out there now, WGP might have decided to unload at close to cost in order to not get caught with a huge inventory liability.

Also, I'm not sure about this, but the price might be substantially lower than yesteryear because the bodies might be made overseas now. Again, I'm not sure about this.
