Need some quick advise on outer diameter of air source adapters.

Ok I plan on making an ASA rig that attaches to a dovetail rail onto of my AT85.

The plan is to take a scope mount, and insert something very similar to this smooth round ASA from PPS. What i want to know is, will a standard one inch scope mount do the job, or would i need to get one bigger, or smaller to secure the ASA?

I've been fiddling with ASAs all week, I ought to remember the od.

I'm pretty sure they run right around an inch. I have some scope rings and an old vert ASA sitting out. I'll try to remember to check them.

inch diameter is fairly common and standard.

Why do I feel that should be worded differently?

that pps adapter is 1" (the round (not hex) ones I've bought from pps all ended up being 1"; hex od is larger)

EDIT: after actually reading the OP's full post... I have actually done exactly what you are doing! Ran a 12g via 1" scope ring and CA -> 1/8th npt. No problem, works fine.

Because it makes you feel inadequate?

Ouch, not the response I expected.

And I hope you'll post some pictures when you're done DRP, it sounds interesting.
