Underboring - Page 2

I use a freak set. I also own "inbetween size inserts". They have helped alot. I haven't had much trouble with paint sizing since I started to use them.

Last time I played (2 weeks ago), I was underboring by about 0.006" and accuracy was great. If anything, a decent underbore is MORE accurate than match boring because it accounts for less than perfect/inconsistent ammo (which even top grade paint is to a certain extent). The point at which you have "squeezed them too much" is when they break in your barrel.

To answer the question, I have an empire sniper barrel kit (0.675", 0.680", 0.685") for my s6.5, and I would be grabbing the 0.680" back if the paint I was shooting was 0.685"

its always nice to have freaks inserts or any barrel system that have different backs to match the paint. since you find paint balls will very in size all time. not like old days in early to late 80's where you could true size paintball to match the barrel.

What do you guys think about underboring FSR like normal paint? Not a good idea?

I wanna get this single shot sheridan based rifle with a ss barrel but I'm limited to a barrel with a max id of .683/4 max

Because of the hard fins, underboring FS rounds is not too good.

That's what I've kinda figured and confirmed stuff I've heard. Just to be crystal though, even .683 you think is too small (as in it will cause breaks regularly) for fsr? thanks again!

I'm only speaking from second hand knowledge from this forum, so I won't even take a guess at the smallest numbers. I remember seeing .686 as a good bore for them, but I'm not sure how small you could go. Best to wait for someone with first hand experience.

last year we had paintballs .677 then that since that was small insert we had from group.

I like to go .002 - .004 smaller than my paint. I slip the paint into my Freak inserts, when I find the insert that fits the paint, I go one or two sizes down, depending on the temperature and brittleness of the paint. I find I get very few breaks with Evil or Premium in my CCM T2 or Empire AXE.

it always help to have lager amount of opinions on topics like this since we get to see whole picture on this topic and not just one side. its shame quality control gotten so out hand. its so hard to get paint right size. i am also surprise that gov or someone did not sue paintball company's over the fact they said paint are or should 68.9 size and not size we really get.
