Looking for some history here

I'm looking for input. just bought two of the sheridans and this one pictured had some extra embossing. I'm assuming at this point this was a team gun

Very cool 1st generation Annihilator/Marauder.
Built for one of the Southern California Headhunter's whose home field was Sat Cong Village (SC Village).

Steve Gunner Tedz is probably the most well know Headhunter who worked at SC Village and rented Annihilators.

South Bay Arms (Earon Carter and Stan Russell) sold the rental guns to Gunner and also likely sold this gun to the Headhunter player it is engraved for rather than it being purchased from Mac-1. Earon told me he took Annihilators/Marauders to Sc Village every Friday night to sell.

Hard to tell from the feed but this gun looks to have the standard feedneck which likely puts it at 1987. It also has the Marauder style pump handle and (again hard to tell) but possibly the Carter stick feed as opposed to the Mac-1 style feed.

the second one is identical to this one except no team engraving and the grips are plastic . the first one has real wood grips that are quite used.

thanks bro, i will hang some pic's on my facebook after cleaning and oiling, i'm gonna use your historical knowledge too for descriptive purpose.

Glad it helps. A lot of the information from back then runs together or splits off in two different directions based on who you talk to. What I wrote is basically the information for that particular gun as best I can decipher it from sitting down with both Tim and Earon.
Post some pictures of the other Annihilator/Marauder and I will let you know anything else I notice.

There is a little more information about the different model Annihilators and Marauders here:

Note, as shown in your first closeup pic, that the gun was made from a .20 cal Sheridan pellet gun, probably an EB, rather than being, say, a rebarreled PGP or PMI-1. Also note there's no locking bolt (either spring-loaded balls or "speed demon" type bolt) and no "quick strip" notch.

Making that a pretty early MacMurray Annihilator, that is not only remarkably complete but remarkably original too. Check the hydro date on the tank- while not definitive, it ought to be a good indicator as to it's age.

And, it probably doesn't need to be said, but I'll say it anyway: Do Not Alter Or Modify It! Clean it carefully, yes, but carefully. Remove dirt and dust, but not the finish or "patina". Don't polish anything, don't replace anything, don't lose anything. That sucker is a collector's item.

Doc.

Were the first Sheridan paintball markers conversions of existing pellet guns?

I vaguely remember seeing ads for that as a service and, the lower tube on that first pic says for ".20 cal pellets only"
