Best way to pull a vert feed autococker feedneck, and autococker feedneck die size?

What is the easiest way to pull a feedneck off a vert feed?

Do you think it would be better to just cut some threads on the body with a die or try and find a clamping feedneck that I can press on, do they even make one without threads? What size die would I need to cut some threads on to the body to fit a feedneck on it?

I don't know of any press on clamping feednecks. There are a couple of smiths here (and on CC) that will cut the half of the neck off and thread the remaining portion for ego feednecks.

The two most popular mods I do for them is Angel thread or Ego/Etek clamping. It's getting harder to find good Angel-thread necks now, but there's lots of options for PE stuff.

Either one runs $35 to $45.

Wouldn't you need a tap not a die. Your best bet is to send it to jcurt, he will mill it for spyder feednecks for a very resonable price.

I did it a few months ago. Pulled out the feedneck with a gear puller, and then turned it down on my lathe and used an Ego clamping feedneck. Pretty easy all told. A pic here in this thread;

you can buy the one with thread on it

WGP Autococker Threaded Vertical Feed Port - Fits: 2K/2K2/2K3/2K4 - Raw

simple way to remove the feed if you have a vise is to clamp the feed into a vise and twist the body. just twist it back and forth till it is apart. fbm did sell feedneck without the thread but they are hard to find. another option would be to mod your existing feedneck so you can add a collar to it.

Probably going with the raw threaded insert, I already have a ccm feedneck I can use.

When I pulled the feedneck from my centerfeed body, I put two heavy pieces of cardboard on the top of the body and used two small pry bars to lever the sucker out. No dings or scratches occured. Its another option if you don't have access to a gear puller.
