I think AVRN was North Vietnam (aka Democratic Repbulic of North Vietnam)
RVA was South Vietnam (aka Rebulic of Vietnam)

or could be vic versa

or I could be totally wrong

or right

I think that ARVN was south vietnam, and that NVA was north vietnam. I don't remember an RVA. But my info mostly comes from "Good Morning Vietnam" and other movies about the topic, so take it for what its worth.

Regardless, there were no military organizations in the Vietnam Conflict known as Rear Velocity Adjusters, that much we know is true

No there weren't.

But the Spartans did make good strategic use of them during the Peloponnesian War.

The realy funny thing is that technicly an RVA doesnt adjust velocity, but rather Valve dwell, which just happens to have and effect on velocity.
