Thanks Doc, I had forgotten the Skan-Line products! A Taso frame will work well if the stock frame isnt up to my standards. A marksman would be cool, but really hard to find.

Anyone know when the Siler frame came out? Those were the coolest frames in my opinion.

I think I may have the type of PMS/Nitro Duck system Doc was talking about.

The tank is well out of hydro, both gauges on the reg need to be replaced, and the reg probably needs a new burst disc - but it would look neat cleaned up and installed on an older cocker. I'll let you have it if you think you might have a use for it.

No, that style came out in '97 or so. I was referring to the earlier style, like this:

It's a "hoop wrapped" flat-bottomed 71 ci tank. As I said, I've almost never seen any turn up on the used market, and the ring style mount limits how you can set them up.

Which is why I suggested a somewhat more conventional AA system. Any period setup will likely be long out of hydro, and possibly even be un-re-hydroable (if that's a word) but similar size and shape tanks can be had new or lightly used, inexpensively, and installed to the AA reg.

What I'd like to find is one of these:

That's an old PMS/Nitro-Duck 4500 'sausage' tank. I took that pic in '98, and I think I've only seen maybe one or two others ever since.

Since we are on the subject, when did the Bob Long Tornado low pressure valve come out? it has to be right in that era, as it was made for the PMI type springs.

The Tornado Valve was made by AKA (nee` Leads Metal Products) and was never associated with Bob Long. The Tornado came out in approximately '97.

The Cyclone came out shortly after the Tornado (hence the name) and was a blatant attempt to copy the Tornado.

Bob, however, heavily misunderstood the concept, and made a huge, heavy and bulky cupseal, using the seal out of an ICD Alley Cat or Thundercat. I'm sure he sold plenty, 'cause he was Bob Long, of course, but in most cases, the valve actually performed worse than the stocker.

Thundercat I think. They don't actually look that poorly designed but I haven't had a gun that's really liked it.
