I will post an actual picture as soon as possible. I belive that this is an original Mean Green not Mean Green II (Pictured above.). It has wood grips and allen screws instead of thumb screws. I gave it some TLC today it is now working nicely. Thanks for all the help!

You internals are likely fine but as Mad wrote they may need a polish. I'm not so sure the internals from a Spitfire will work. If you are having problems check the sear, which is typically one of the weak points on NW pumps.

I think both the Comps I and II (NW Comp, Mean Green, Silver Bullet, Red Baron, Blue Royal, etc...) use an anti king bolt (adjuster from the bolt slides into hammer) and the Spit fire uses an anti kink hammer (hammer slides into bolt).
The sear on the hammer is also significantly different between the two but I haven't tried dropping the entire internal set from either into the opposite.

Here are images from a Silver Bullet two:

I can't believe you picked that up for a sawbuck.
NW's > than Carters. (At least the ones I've owned)

I love my NW comp, I had to replace the sear, hard to find so I ended up making my own.
