Throw a 90 bend in upstream of the qd:

Asa to hose to 90 bend to female qd to male qd to 90 bend tapped into the valve.

Gets rid of the loop that gets in the way of the pump. You could probably use a real short chunk of braided then.

True, though the body of the stock might be in the way. The good thing is that the new line (not shown) actually interferes less than the macro pictured. It only overlaps the pump by about 1/4" when you have the handle all the way back.

If you throw a 45 bend down at the asa it will make life easier... it will stick out to the side some but will work well (I've done this too). If it's needed hose I've made it work. At one point I probably had a dozen pieces of hose of varying length in my tool box. from 4" (it may have even been shorter if that's at all possible) all the way up to the hose from a remote

Yep. Fine right-handed, too, just need to adjust the speed.
