mokal mirage front bolt o-ring

Just wondering about the purpose of the front bolt o-ring (plastic front bolt that pushes the ball into the barrel).

Is this to seal the chamber to ensure proper velocity, or does it also assist in recocking of the marker.

I modded a automag barrel to work on my mirage and reduced the diameter of the front bolt so it would work with the smaller diameter bore. I also replaced the o-ring with a thinner one to prevent jamming.

Sometimes the gun doesn't fully recock. It may be a issue of everything needing a good cleaning.

The front bolt o-ring is just to help direct the gas forward and cut down on blow back in the breach.
If you are having problems with it re-cocking the front bolt is probably dragging some, try taking the o-ring out. See how that does.

The special cup shaped oring on the Mirage helps the bolt recock. I tried replacing mine with regular orings and got the same results as you (inconsistent recocking). I had to get a new one from Mokal to get it functioning reliably.

I dont think it's the problem (I am aware of the flared o-ring).

It worked much better before rebarreling. Possibly the internal valve alignment or the front bolt fit.

I think the valve sends some of the HPA back against the hammer to knock it back.

Gotcha, you were talking about the bolt, not the hammer.
