Here's a link to a knee pad thread. AgentSmith recommended Kali Protectives knee/shin pads around page 3. I bought a pair and I love them. Hope this helps.

Keebler has sold me, I will pick up both a pair of volley ball pads and raid my local army surplus. I've worn skateboard pads before and it killed the back of my knees. I also have basket ball knee braces so I could try a combo of those and army pads. Any way, I play in vibrams so full leg pads might be a poor choice.

Earthy, so much info, many thanks

My knee pads are still okay, but seeing that thread convinced me to get the Kali's. And pricey they are, but worth it. I don't even use neoprene knee sleeves anymore with the pads. They don't move, and are really built to last and handle the abuse.

I did find that after several seasons(bearing in mind I've certainly crawled over 30 miles in them, yes seriously), I have eventually worn them to the point that a new pair is called for soon...

From my experiense

Go with eclipse if you want to prevent stuff from poking you in the knees (diving/taking a knee on a xball stake, tree root, etc.). They are about bulletproof, but can be kinda uncomfortable to wear around

Go for dye if youre looking for general padding and protection against a less threatening surface like turf/grass/smooth forrest floor. What the lack in protection they make up for in comfort.
