Get a used 07 ego or an etek3. Last electro I had was the etek3 and I would go back to it in a heartbeat if I played with an electro again. Only other poppit I thought was better was the cyborg rx.

Not 90% of the time, but it's possible that some threads will work with others. For example, the old JT barrels are compatible with the Trilogy Pro barrels. And The JT barrel fronts can also be easily modified to fit CP barrels backs. Here is a picture of a 10 inch JT barrel tip on a CP back.

It really comes down to luck, but don't count on anything working together.

Thinking of getting an FX for myself but also considering an Etek 4 LT. Leaning towards the FX. I'm just a bit concern about the settings in the board.

+6 for the mini or axe. My 14 yr old Daughter loves shooting them, the mini fits really well!

+10 for the mini or a older ego/something similar.
Last time I played there where three 12ish year olds shooting D4s. They where whisper quiet and comfortable to shoot, however by the end of the day 2 where acting up. Now is it was my gun I could have field stripped it and fixed it, but for newbies that is very intimidating. I would go for something small and simple, hence the mini. That being said I personally would shoot a '07 ego over a mini any day, I also have big hands though. Depending on how much you want to spend a blitz might be a good option. They are not as quiet or as small as a mini but they are spyder biased so any field will be able to fix 'em. Then you could pocket the extra dosh for a proper high-end or better gear.

No Spider based guns. She does her own maintenance on her Ion and mom's G4. She is 12 but she does know how to turn a wrench. I'm going on a trip to mid Cali. I will take the her with me and make a stop in ANS and let her try the Mini and some others. She has been doing a lot of reading on her own also. She has a few others that she wants to look at. She has been working and she has raised some funds on her own that she is willing to put towards her new gun.

That's good to hear! I'm impressed with your daughter's devotion towards the sport. In that case go with the mini or a like marker. I'm a used gun fan but a mini will do well.

It's weird because, both, my son of 11 and her are into it, but I was expecting my son to be the one really into it but it turned out the other way around. My son likes it but he has a long way to go before I would upgrade his gun to her level. She caught on quick and loves it. Always walks out of the field with a huge smile even if she was taken out.

I personally use a PMR and love it.While it is only $250,it is fairly smooth and VERY easy to maintain. Its older brother, the Reflex Rail,I imagine could only be better. But as has been stated above,a used gun would blow most of these guns out of the water. And alot of higher end companies don't change their products that much,so a Ego 7-8 would be very similar to an Ego 11.
