BE Nightmare

Ok, so my Nightmare SB has been sitting for something like 6 months now, can't really justify having it sit any longer. It needs some fixin.

Is there some guy out there that does these repairs? All I seem to be able to do is tear up o-rings. I have extra seals. Should I continue trying to fix this or just send it to someone that knows what they're doing?

There was Scarecrow, but despite his website, I think that he has dried up the Nightmare repairs. Other than one guy and his videos (I think that he is out of Michigan), there isn't much else out there. Unless someone like chplnstone wants to try and take a whack at it?

You can do it yourself. Have some faith.

Grease the ever loving snot out of the valve before you put it in. I like to freeze it before I lube it for good measure. Never, ever remove the valve if you don't have to. Leaks down the barrel are not valve body leaks, and can be fixed without removing the valve.

Try one size smaller on the outer o-rings ans yes lubeeeeeee

I've successfully fixed a few (and one other not so much) but I really don't like working on them. There are are a few others on here that can fix them but folks don't generally line up to do it.

I've rebuilt one. It took two sets of Orings. After the first set was destroyed during installation I ran a flex hone through it. No issues with the second set.

LoL @ freezing it. At this point I'm going to have to. I had a down the barrel leak, but I think that's just the o-ring on the inside of the valve.

Pif - How would you remove the brass nut that holds the valve internals together? I have found that the only thing I posses that can open it is a pair of scissors.

Good advice!
