"Thank you for contacting ninja and most of them do but you have to check to make sure. When we contacted DOT they stated that the user, filler and hydro tester should measure the tank and as long as it is 2.0 inches or less in diameter it does not need to be hydro tested. I would still recommend that the tank be inspected every 5 years and the reg rebuilt or replaced every 5 years also.
So, I guess though it is advised it is not necessary.
