- - Current Paint?

I'm just getting back into the sport after a ~5 year hiatus and my first two outings were field paint affairs. This field sticks to Nelson, and I have to say the paint was some of the worst I've ever seen...not overly round and extremely fragile.
My question is, what is the current uber-paint?
My go-to used to be marbs, or really anything from RPS (all-star, any tourney RPS paint). Are they still top dog if you care about shooting straight?
What about tough/winter paint? Anyone make a decent one?

Valken redemption and graffiti shoots real nice in all conditions I've played in. Last west point combat classic they had a new batch of marbalizer and you couldn't even shoot it with the softest marker set up. It was garbage, marbs used to be nice and tough. Not monster ball tough but you could plug one through the bushes nicely.
Welcome back to the sport (:

Are they a totally new brand or owned by someone?

All the "high end" old RP paint isn't what it used to be. I think the company got sold to one of these mega corporations that focus more on profit margin than quality. I have switched to Valken Redemption and have been really happy with it. As far as I know, Valken is it's own company.

yes, I do believe valken is its own company. RPS is made in the US though whereas Valken is made in Taiwan I think (if that matters to you)

Some of the cheaper Valken paints are made in Taiwan, as is the Redemption Pro. Normal Redemption and I believe Graffiti are made here.

oh okay, it caught my eye on a box of redemption last summer, so I assumed it was all made there. Thanks for the info

Well there is Kee paint, nelson, valken, and hydrotech; not yet out. Kee is all but the other three. I have used the field grade stuff because I am poor and once in a while I will get marb and beat the snot out of people who think it won't break at long distance. All paint is about .685 now so barrel id accordingly. I have had no probe with Kee paint as it is still made in the original plants. RPS stinger, marb, premium, and drexus 1* all work well. Remember these are all Kee now and is is about .685 bore. Hope this helps.

Sorry to make you repeat yourself, but rps is no more? Just a brand of kee?
