Have I been scammed?

I made a deal with this guy, my tank was delivered to him, but I still haven't received His end of the deal.

He's sending it back to me now, and it'll be checked over, and sent back to you the day I get it.

I really apologize about this. I thought I double checked the labels and packages, but I guess I didn't check good enough.

I sent him a message 3 days ago asking what was going on, as i haven't received anything yet, but he hasn't logged on since the 30th. Should I be worried?

HokiePB 02-03-2013 11:50 AM

He's been a member since 2007 and has 6 pages of positive feedback here on MCB. I would give him the benefit of the doubt and wait a little while longer.

He hasn't been on in a few days and may be busy (life does sometimes get in the way of paintball) but if he shipped it you should have a package soon regardless of whether or not he gets you a DC number.

No you are not. Mistakes happen.
You should take this post down immediately as it is not classy to call someone out publicly while they are trying to get you your end of the deal.

^^I am still waiting on some viking tools and spares from him that I bought god knows how long ago. I know he's been on and reading the messages, but I haven't heard back. Even if it's an "I don't have them anymore". I got the viking, just none of the spares he had promised.

But he does seem like a good guy, I don't even miss the spare parts really, just was hoping for some form of response. I do not in any way believe you have been scammed. Life gets in the way sometimes. It has happened to me more than once. Seems like he is being honest with you so you don't really have anything to worry about.

Never struck me as a problematic dude when I did my deal with him a long while back. Life happens.

He chimed in on some of my sales threads Pm'd me a few times flaked out on offers photos I don't trust the guy I all together just ignored and moved on

I have actually done the same mistake, at the end everything turned out ok.

The thing is, I got the tank to him over a week ago, and I still haven't received anything (even the alleged "mis-sent" package) and I have no idea if anything is coming or not. (he said i would get a tracking number, but it never happened) I did blur out his name though, so I don't hurt his reputation just in case he is telling the truth.

By just posting this thread you're taking a chance on hurting his reputation. More often than not the "so & so is/might be scamming me" is a statement that can't be undone. Once you start pissing on someone's rep it can be hard to take it back - even if you want to.

As an example, there's already one post in this thread where someone is saying something negative about him without ever having closed a deal - just because he offered on something and decided to pass on buying/trading for it.

You should delete this thread & wait - or replace it with something more innocuous like "I'm trying to get in touch with you - please respond." If another week goes by and you haven't had any contact then you can start to worry.
