AM Illusion velocity adjustment issues

Hey guys,

so I've got an AM illusion set up for SC and I've noticed something weird. (keep in mind gun is completely degassed when this happens) If the velocity screw is all the way in it cocks fine. As soon as I turn the screw out even a little bit it will no longer cock. I have noticed that even if the cocking rod is all the way in the issue still persists and it will only cock again when the velocity screw is literally falling out. Any ideas guys? I'm thinking it's possibly having to do with the fact the gun is being dry fired and something to do with it's design and the way the screw effects that but I figured I'd ask and be sure.

Just to be sure, you know the velocity adjustment is inside the pump handle, right? Really, the only things that should affect whether the gun cocks or not are the sear, and the cocking rod length. The velocity screw cannot even begin to affect this.

Oh, and by "cocks", you mean the hammer latches into the ready position, right?

by cocks I mean I can cock the gun pull the trigger and the sear drops and the hammer comes forward. I guess I'm just confused that since it only happens when I adjust the velocity screw (yes it is inside the handle) that it would be the thing affecting it

Problem solved. the gun has to be gassed up to cock properly past a certain point. Not sure why but the velocity doesn't feel all sloppy when it's gassed up whereas when it's dry there is a point where the screw just gets sloppy as all get out and then it won't cock.
