sheridan jackal xgsh questions

Ok I just bought this jackal off of qmto kevin. And the hammer on the back is floppy. I don't have a co2 tank to try it out yet. Can it hold HPA? Is it air assisted cocking or is something wrong with it? I expected the hammer to be spring loaded and cock back. Am I wrong?

On trigger pull, the hammer should be forced open. At the end of the trigger pull, the hammer should fall and strike the valve.

If it's truly just "flopping", then the hammer spring is broken.

Also... Enjoy your new first strike rifle...!

How hard will this be to fix?

Get a new hammer spring or find a spring that's around d the same size.

Not much harder than finding a new spring.

;)

Where can I buy a hammer spring? Or would a hardware store be the place to go for it?

Do these make great first strike guns since they break down like a shotgun? Well it being double action ruined a potential idea for this gun lol....I wanted to Egrip it or response it. Looks impossible though now that I see how the internals work.

Can I use HPA on this thing or will it damage it?

the "hammer" is just for looks, serves no real purpose. if everything is lined up right and functioning properly the hammer goes back and releases when you pull the trigger. HPA didnt hurt mine so i dont see why yours would be different.

What the hell is this?
:ROTFL:

The hammer serves a critical function of striking the valve. It's not just for looks.
