If you go with an Automag, don't bite on the first one you find. There are a lot of them out there and I'm guessing you have some time before there will be a lot of play-able weather. So take your time and find a good deal on a Classic. I'd suggest one with a double trigger though, even one with a cut frame and double trigger. A Level 10 bolt is also a nice addition to a mag but it can also almost double the price of a class mag too.
Since we're on Automags now, for what it's worth, I only tend to run a level 10 when playing with a gravity-fed loader, like a Winchester or Sportshot. If I expect to be using something like a Rotor, I just take it out and enjoy the extra 10% or so efficiency. If you're planning to use a force-fed loader, it's not really a necessity and passing on it could save you a few bucks.

I actually prefer the Level 7 bolt as well since the Level 10 adds pressure on the trigger, essentially making it heavier. However, I think if I had to rely on a mag to shoot great in all condition because it would be my primary, the Level 10 bolt is nice. Certain conditions never liked my Level 7 bolt, like I would usually break a few extra balls when playing in very cold temperatures. I wouldn't suggest buying one new but if he can find a Classic with Level 10 (and its extra parts) for a little bit extra, I think it's worth the cash.

For the money I think an autococker would be the best bet. He just needs to find a nice seller who will send him one with good seals and that's timed reliably. With the way the low-end cockers are selling right now, he could find a vertical feed with nice upgrades for $150 easy, or stick with a stock Autococker around $100.

X7 Classic

Can't hardly beat it. Looks really cool for milsim/scenario. You can change the grip from mechanical to electro with two grip pins. Limitless add ons for looks or night play. You can also go mag fed for that extra milsim look. and you can get them on here for 200 or less...............

Sorry, I know its off topic.
I usually play the Splatterpark games. But I am going to be going up to Hell Survivors this year to play.

This would probably run you a bit more than $200 but pretty much any marker is a Scenario marker ... just throwin' it out there.

For the exact reason there was a debate about "scenario markers" 10 or so posts ago? Or were you not liking the Etha itself?
