Removing the metal parts from a CF barrel

Is there a good (safe) way to remove the metal parts from a CF barrel? I wanted to clean up some of the older ones I have laying around and re-anno the tips.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

Seems like heat, boiling, would be the best and safest way of doing things. Stainless steel tongs padded with leather for removing (believe me, it sounds like a great plan until you realize at the last second you have no way of removing anything). 2 part epoxy, twisted around the tip for mixing. BAH, sprry thinking outloud.
