Question Can helicoils be removed and reinstalled?

I have a Taso slide frame that I absolutely love, however it's in rough shape. The threads in one of the bottomline holes has been helicoiled. I was thinking about building a custom autococker using the Taso frame which would need to be anodized. I know the helicoil insert cannot go into the anodizing tank because it's SS.

So can the current helicoil be removed, the frame anodized, and another helicoil installed? I'm guessing a larger helicoil would need to be used the second time, there appears to be plenty of room for it. Thanks guys!

They sell a tool for removal of the inserts.

It looks like that tool just grabs the back of the insert with a blade and lets you back it out. You could probably make your own tool for that with a screwdriver and a file and save yourself some money.
