corrosion help

I just picked up a pmi trracer. I stripped it all down and the hammer is pretty nasty with corrosion. I would just sand it down and polish it but the sear is stuck. I was wondering what i could do to free up the sears corrosion

In case I can't take care of this corrosion problem, would anybody know where i could get the new hammer and bolt. I don't have a pb store near by. I also couldn't find them on the empire site or ansgear.

Perhaps a bath in some white vinegar? It should eat away at the corrosion. Though, depending on how bad it is, might not be enough.

i already tried my phantom hammer but the sear doesn't latch and i don't think the trigger would trip it either.

FYI, Phantom hammers have different geometry to their sear than other nelsons

Bacci paintball.com could be a good source for the hammer and sear if you can't get yours' freed up and also a bolt if you need one.

Thanks for that web site. They have everything I could ever want.

I was able to work the sear lose with a vice. I haven't tried vinegar yet, but even if that doesn't work I should be able to sand and polish it to a working condition.

Thanks for the help

The vinegar will take this :

To this :

Soak it for a few hours for best results. Of course, take out all seals and o-rings, otherwise they may no longer be effective.
