nelspot

ok
I just got a nice nelspot (assembled feb 7 1987). The problem is I can't remove the hammer! IT's blocked by a set screw and some steel. Looks like the sear was added after putting the hammer by installing the pin thru the 2 holes in the body!
how should I remove the hammer? Try to hammer out the pin or cut the steel section?

Fan of EMR
The proper way is to remove the pin holding the sear then the internals will slide out......

Everyone else just finishes the slot through the body to make it easier.

wow, an unmodified body.

you're right on both counts. your first choice is how to do it without the damage. you'll probably need the correct size pin punch to do it, but those are cheap to buy. cutting is what most people do. just extend the sear slot all the way out back with a dremel. the other 2 set screws are strong enough to hold the valve.

wait, this means the gun hasn't been properly cleaned since 1987?
another question:
is barrel shroud and valve body made of steel?

Everything but the grip frame is steel on the 007.

came out quite nice

are these anti-kink internals?

lots of gunk and some rust (phew!)

those are stock internals, not anti-kink. They look to be in pretty good shape.
