I have some of those in er16 I use on the cnc lathe. I honestly never thought of using them on the manual lathe. I really should! It would work much better than 5c since it locks from the front instead of the back. 5c is a pain unless you have a 5c collet chuck on your lathe. the adpaters are just painful to use in the lathe.

And duh, I didn't even think about using collets, I've got plenty of them in the size range needed...
I really need to sign up for a machining course so I can learn the proper/easy ways of doing this stuff...
