Fan of EMR
I Use CO2 on all my Nelsons.

HPA is fine on a Nelson.

Pretty much all the pros and cons I can think of have been covered.

Hell, I even make it easy on 'em; I bring the darn thing to the field in the cooler with my drinks so it's already chilled. But I still run out of air after about 50 shots.

That's why I've got a 22ci on its way to me as I type this.

That's what sets my preference. My home field does great CO2 fills, and I get a lot of play on a 9oz. Other fields don't do so well and I don't bother trying to use CO2. For some fields, I'll pick out an efficient electro and put on a 68 ci bottle because they don't even do air well.

Exactly Spider....the hpa fills at my home field are no problem...but co2 all depends on who is doing the filling...some can fill my 7oz bottle so I can play many games on one fill...others, I barely get a game in...so I make my air choice dependent on who the person doing the co2 tank is...

Much truth in this. At Canadian Carnage I had the person doing CO2 fills ask what my 3.5oz was. I said it was my CO2 bottle. She said she had never seen one that small. That set the mood for the fill.

She filled it and I headed out to the field. I was standing on the sidelines when I started to hear a slight hiss. I quickly backed the tank out of my Hammer A and it poured out of the bottle near the end of the turns(ie. the pin was depressed enough that since the bottle was overfilled the excess blew out). Thankfully, I only blew the tank o-ring and not the burst disc.

Oh yeah, carry a small scale when you try out a new field and really want to use co2. You check for a good fill and for over fill.

My buddy just buys Co2 in bulk and we fill our small tanks at his house. Chill in the freezer overnight, break out the scale and fill em up. For my 3.5 oz it works out to about $.75-$1 a fill, depending on what the company he bought it from charges.

My 3.5 oz- about 260 shots on my Phantom
13 ci- about 115 shots on the same Phantom (resprung for the higher velocity)

"Best fill" does not mean the fullest possible fill.

The best fill would be one that adds exactly 3.5 ozs of CO2 to an empty 3.5 oz tank.
