Paint Sizing Thread
Tedious, but potentially useful idea that I got from how small some of the paint I've been getting recently is. I'd love to have a log on the paint sizes people are seeing from different companies this season. I'll start with the paint I was just shooting, sized by the barrel back that it fit without rollouts on my Kaos Pump.
Dye CG (ANSgear) - .678
MilSim 2star (ANS) - .673
Ultra Evil (ANS) - .678
Diablo Heat (Ans) - .684
Valken Graffiti (local NYC)- .684
JT Inertia (ANS) - .680
Valken Redemption - 682
Valken Graffiti - 679
GI 5 star - 684
GI Sportz custom .673
Diablo Heat - .684
RPS Premium - .684
Wonder if anyone finds paint bigger then .684, I don't know i've shot anything bigger then that scinse I started playing again.
Well, that's going purely off of my Freak insert labels, which aren't always accurate. I guess the paint itself could have possibly been bigger or smaller.
The weird thing to me is all the talk about the super-micro paint. I don't think I've ever used a Freak insert smaller than .682.
Heat and humidity would help to ensure paint was bigger in Tampa then most places, certainly then the east coast this time of year.
Outside of St Louis
Marbs: 686-689 (2 weekends ago)
Shot some Walmart paint today, purchased outside Burlington, Vermont
XO Spectrum (Walmart, VT) - .673 (ifit) and still had periodic roll outs, terrible paint.
Also got to try some Proto Advantage friends brought the field, excellent paint might I note, seemed to be about the same quality as the Dye CG we had been shooting a few days prior.
Proto Advantage (???, upstate NY) - .682
The paint here rolls out of my .679 lately. I have never used anything bigger than a .679 (although it used to fit) for a few years. A few weekends ago I used my .670 ifit insert. Paint around here is just tiny.
