Opinions again please

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'll start by saying I'm waiting on a deal so this may all be moot. I just got wifely permission to attend Fall Castle and now I need a marker that's fast enough for defending said castle. My fastest and newest marker is a VM 68, which if I don't trade for something newer, will come along as my back up. My requirements are:
1) It must run on CO2 I'm not spending the $$ on HPA tanks
2) It must be reliable
3) Call me old but I prefer it doesn't need batteries
4) I don't have a power hopper of any kind so if it was included that would be great
5) The kicker is I only have $250 to spend on this but if you have something please let me know I have up to 3 VM 68s I can add to any prospective deals

So the question is what should I be looking for that meets all/most of these specs?

Thanks again
Tug

PS of course I'd love a blazer but it problably too much of a stretch for what I've got

Edit- An e-gripped A5 looks like it could do the job any thoughts? Other than the fact I didn't want batteries.

Some reasonably fast-shooting sub-$250 (used price) co2-friendly mechs I've used:

Autococker
Tippmann A5/98
Nova 68
ICD Alley Cat
Automag Classic(w/ anti-syphon and expansion chamber)

Use the money on accessories and an HPA tank for a VM. Seriously, at EMR, an HPA tank is invaluable for games. The difference in refill time between HPA and CO2 could mean missing a re-insertion. Also, a VM is plenty fast for Castle, and also they are reliable even in the EMR gun bremuda triangle.

A5 with response trigger, durable, takes co2, shoots plenty fast, stupid proof maintenance.

I would say A-5 with Egrip, the R/T used to much air for my tastes. Agreed on the HPA tanks, easier and quicker to fill.

Hmm a HPA on the vm. Anything I have to do to it? What accessories would you recommend? I don't really have HPA here yet but since its a vm I could buy one of the steel tanks it's not like it could get heavier.

Stay with your VM... bring extra CO2 and have them filled and ready in the deadzone... and put a reg (like a Palmer Male Stab) in the asa if you are running anything other than a tank in the front asa.

You should be good then.

If youre looking for a new marker, i would back up all the suggestions for an A-5.

NO R/T at EMR.

I'd say buy a few extra 20oz CO2 tanks before buying an HPA tank. Get them all filled and leave them in the dead zone. You'll get more shots off those than off HPA, and you won't have to wait in line at all to get a fill. Cheaper too. And since all your other guns are CO2 guns, you've got spare tanks for them too.
